Escorted child

1. Age requirement

Child refers to the one who is above 2 years old and below 12 years old when he/she start the travel. Child between 2 to 5 years old must be escorted by an 18-year-old passenger or above with full capacity for civil conduct in the same class cabin. On the day of travel, child between 5 to 12 years old without the escort of a parent or an 18-year-old traveler or above with full capacity for civil conduct in the same class cabin must be covered by unescorted child services.

2. Ticket price

Child’s seats should be charged against the corresponding child’s ticket prices.

Attention:

(1) In purchasing child’s (baby’s) ticket, the buyer should provide valid identity documents including birth certificate, ID card, Hukou Book (household registration book) for the child aged below 16 years and passport. In handling boarding procedures, the original document used in purchases should be provided.

(2) In taking domestic flights, each 18-year-old passenger or above with full capacity for civil conduct is allowed to bring no more than 2 children below 12 years old in the same cabin. If there are more than 2 children, the excess ones must be subject to provisions of unescorted child even for children that buy tickets at full price. A group of children are not allowed to buy tickets unless approved by the airliner.

3. Free luggage allowance

A child with discounted ticket can enjoy a certain amount of free luggage allowance in line with the ticket price.

Unescorted child

1. Age limit

Unescorted child means a child between 5 (inclusive) and 12 years old without the escort of a parent or an 18-year-old traveler or above with full capacity for civil conduct in the same cabin. CSAir will not allow the unescorted children to board the plane unless they have gone through relevant procedures.

Children aged below 5 without adults’ escort are not allowed to board any flight.

Unescorted young people accepted by CSAir mean people who are aged between 12 and 16 years, without escort of a passenger 18 years old or above, and have applied for unescorted services.

2. Carrier flights

Domestic, international and regional direct flights and other flights with CSAir as the actual carrier offer services for children and teenagers without adult’s escort. CSAir only provides unescorted children and teenagers flight service when no flight transfers are involved and refuses to provide unescorted children and teenagers flight service for children and teenagers when transfers and multi-segment flight routes are involved.

3. Application handling

Applications for services for escorted children and teenagers filed within China can only be handled by ticket sales department (Customer Services Center included) while such applications made outside China can only be handled by offices under CSAir.

Kindly reminders:

Unescorted children/teenagers must book tickets at a ticket office under CSAir or call 4006695539 before reserving a seat. Seats must be confirmed by CSAir according to relevant provisions.

Unescorted children and teenagers must be escorted by parents or guardians to the site of departure and people must be arranged at the site of arrival to take care of them and these people’s names, addresses and phone numbers should be provide to CSAir.

The number of unescorted children/teenagers must be restricted for each flight as the carrier has to bear responsibility for them and provide considerate services and care throughout the flight.

4. Ticket prices for unescorted children

Domestic flights: 50% of ticket prices for adults

International and regional flights: the ticket prices for unescorted children are charged in line with services for unescorted d children.

5. Ticket prices and service fees for unescorted teenagers

Domestic flights: the same as ticket prices for adults

International and regional flights: fees include ticket prices and service fees. Ticket prices: the same as those for adults Service fees: RMB 350 or the equivalent of other forms of currency is added to each segment of the flight (subject to what passenger tickets show).
