Located in the warm temperate zone in the Northern Hemisphere, Dalian City belongs to the warm temperate continental monsoon climate and simultaneously has the marine climate characteristics. Located in the mid-latitude area of the Northern Hemisphere, Dalian City has relatively high solar radiation all year round. As for the atmospheric circulation, the westerly system and subtropical system prevail in Dalian City. Due to its unique geographic location (one side lying against the mountain and three sides facing the sea), Dalian City has the following climate traits: four distinctive seasons, temperate climate, humid air, centralized precipitation, notable monsoon, and strong wind.
1.Beihai Park
Located in the residential area in the north of Shengli Bridge, Xigang District, Dalian City, the Beihai Park, with a floor space of 2.3 hectares, was incorporated in 1898. Due to its location (northern part of the downtown), the Beihai Park is also called "North Park". In the wake of Japan's invasion in Dalian City, South Manchuria Railways Co. expanded the North Park and additionally built such facilities as tennis court and manmade hill etc. After the World War II, the North Park was renamed as Beihai Park. Thereafter, nearby construction works led to 1 hectare of decline in park floor space.
2.Tropical Forest Hall of Dalian Forest Zoo
Tropical Forest Hall of Dalian Forest Zoo is an important winter resort in Dalian City. In Dalian City, the public traffic system is very developed, and you can depend on the bus to complete a self-guided tour. In Dalian downtown there are 100-plus bus lines, including China's only two trolley lines. Normally, the first bus's operation time is 4:00-4:30, and the last bus's operation time is 22:00-23:50, with normal departure interval ranging between 3minutes and 8 minutes. During the peak period, the departure interval will be adjusted to 1-2minutes. In Dalian there are also two double-deck sightseeing bus lines.
Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport is more than 10km away from the downtown of Dalian City, and it only costs you 10-odd minutes to travel from the airport to the downtown, or you can take Bus Line 516, 532, 701, and 710 etc to have a direct access to the downtown, and the ticket fare is RMB 1.
