SuvarnabhumiAirport, or Bankok International Airport (BKK) was officially opened on September 28, 2006. It is located 25km to the north of Bangkok. The first phase project has an annual capacity of 45 million passengers, boasting 56 boarding gates, 64 aircraft parks and a 563,000 square meters of terminal buildings. After the expansion project, the annual passenger volume is expected to reach 1,200 million. The blue print features a dock-like departure building, giving priority to passengers instead of to planes.
