Duty-free Goods

Can you briefly introduce how to order duty-free products?

This service is available to all passengers on international and regional flights on China Southern Airlines.

There are three ways to order:

Order online at http://www.csairdutyfree.com;

Place a phone order by calling 020–86134388 (Guangzhou), 0991-3801906 (Urumqi), 024-89392657/024-89392524 (Shenyang);

Order during your flight by browsing the duty-free products available in the Onboard Duty-Free Shopping Guide and then filling out an in-flight order form and submitting it to one of our crew members.

Ordering Time: 8:30-17:00 (Saturday, Sunday, and holidays excluded). Please be sure to give us your real name and contact information so that our staff can call you to confirm your order within half a working day.

We will send the duty-free products you ordered to your flight and contact you with the help of our crew based on your boarding date, flight number, and order number.

If we cannot reach you within two working days of you placing your order, your order will be cancelled automatically.

Are there any restrictions on purchasing duty-free products onboard?

Please inquire flight attendants about details of duty-free commodity restrictions of different countries. The following are duty-free commodity restrictions of some countries:

The Netherlands

Non-European residents can take free of duty 200 cigarettes, or 100 small cigars, or 50 cigars, or 500g tobacco leaves; 2L spirit with alcoholic strength below 22%, or 1L spirit with alcoholic strength over 22%, and 50g of perfume and 250ML Eau de Cologne or skin cream. The quantity for European residents is half of the above.

Thailand

200 cigarettes, or 250g cigar, or 250g tobacco leaves; 1L dinner wine or spirit, and personal articles with the value not exceeding 1,000 THB.

China

Chinese residents of mainland, Hong Kong，China or Macao，China can take free of duty 200 cigarettes and 1L spirit. Overseas Chinese and foreign travelers can take free of duty 400 cigarettes and 1L spirit.

United Arab Emirates

2,000 cigarettes, or 400 cigars, or 2kg tobacco leaves; 150g perfume and 1L Eau de Cologne. Non-Islamists can take free of duty 2L dinner wine and spirit.

Japan

3L dinner wine or spirit, 2oz perfume and articles with the value not exceeding 200,000 yens free of duty. Foreign travelers can take free of duty 400 cigarettes, or 100 cigars, or 500g tobacco leaves; the quantity for Japanese residents is half of the above.

Vietnam

Passengers above the age of 15 can take free of duty 400 cigarettes, or 100 cigars, or 500g tobacco leaves; 2L spirit with alcoholic strength below 22%, or 1.5L spirit with alcoholic strength above 22%.

Malaysia

Travelers going abroad for 72 hours and staying in Malaysia for 75 hours can take free of duty 200 cigarettes, or 50 cigars, or 225 tobacco leaf; 1L dinner wine or spirit, and articles with the value not exceeding 200 MYR.

United States of America

200 cigarettes, or 50 cigars, or 2kg tobacco shred; travelers above the age of 21 can take free of duty 1L alcoholic beverage. American residents can take articles with the value not exceeding US$ 800; Non-American residents can take articles with the value not exceeding US$ 100.

Philippines

400 cigarettes (doubled for Philippine residents), or 50g cigars, or 250g tobacco leaves, and 2 bottles of dinner wine or spirit.

Australia

250 cigarettes, or 250g cigars or tobacco shred; 1L dinner wine or spirit. Adults can take free of tax articles not exceeding AUD 900; and travelers aged below 18 can take free of duty articles not exceeding AUD 450.

France

European residents can take more cigarettes and spirit, and 60ML perfume and 250ML Eau de Cologne.

South Korea

200 cigarettes, or 50g cigars, or 250g tobacco leaves; 1L dinner wine, and gifts with the value not exceeding US$ 400 。

Singapore

1L dinner wine, 1L spirit, and 1L beer. Any tobacco products should be declared at the customs.

Indonesia

200 cigarettes, or 100 cigars, or 100g tobacco leaves; 1L dinner wine or spirit. Adult can take free of duty gifts with the value not exceeding US$ 250, and each family can also take free of duty gifts with the value not exceeding US$ 1,000.

Hong Kong，China

Foreign travelers can take free of duty 200 cigarettes, or 50 cigars, or 250g tobacco, and 1L wine or spirit. Hong Kong，China residents can take free of tax 60 cigarettes, or 15 cigars, or 75g tobaccos, and 750ml still dinner wine.

Cigarettes and alcoholic beverages listed on the shopping instruction and magazines shall not be sold to travelers under 18 years old. 


Which currencies can be used to buy duty-free goods?

1. The following currencies (in cash) can be used to buy duty-free goods:

USD, Euro, Korean Won, Japanese Yen, Australian Dollar, British Pound, Canadian Dollar, Hong Kong Dollar, CNY, Swiss Franc, as well as the Singapore Dollar.

2. All goods provided on our flights are priced in USD. Please ask a flight attendant if you want to know the exchange rate for other currencies.

How do I purchase duty-free products?
We will provide passengers with as many duty-free products as possible on the plane. However, due to the short flight time of some flights and the limited space available, please make a reservation on the Internet or call the booking hotline to guarantee the goods you have chosen are delivered to your international flight in time.
Can I use a credit card to buy duty-free goods?

1. The total spend possible on each credit card ranges from US$15 to US$400.

Can I reserve duty-free goods on the plane?

1. Yes. Please fill in an Onboard Order Form and hand it to an attendant when you are taking a flight.

2. Passengers taking an international or regional flight on China Southern Airlines may make a reservation 48 hours in advance via the Internet, telephone, or on a flight.

Do you provide a delivery service for duty-free goods bought during a flight?
Sorry, duty-free goods can only be delivered to you when you are taking an international flight.

Do I have to register for the duty-free goods ordering service before taking off?
No.
Will my duty-free order be changed automatically if I change my flight?
Sorry, this is not possible at the moment. You need to place a new order or change your order.
Can I add more goods to my confirmed order?
Yes. Please change your order 48 hours before takeoff.
