The United Kingdom

Customs in the United Kingdom adopt the red/green/blue channel system. The red channel is for passengers who have goods to declare or are not sure whether they need to declare their goods; the green channel is for passengers who are from non-EU countries and do not have goods to declare; and the blue channel is for passengers who are from EU countries and do not have goods to declare. You must not carry goods for others. As the UK customs and border control authorities often adjust the categories of goods allowed to enter the country, it is recommended that you consult the UK Customs and Excise Department (Tel: 0845 0109000) or the British Embassy in China before traveling.

1. For passengers entering the UK from non-EU countries: Prohibited and restricted goods mainly include animals and plants, vegetables, meat products, controlled drugs, pornographic materials, counterfeit and pirated products, simulation firearms, narcotics, ammunition, and explosives.

2. For passengers entering the UK from EU countries: Chinese citizens entering the UK from EU countries (or Andorra, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, and other countries that implement EU import and export regulations) can bring uncontaminated fruits and vegetables, meat, meat products, and dairy products purchased in these countries into the UK.
