1.What is the difference between new miles validity rule and the old one?
According to the previous validity rule, the miles are valid for two calendar years. If you fail to reach 20,000km for two calendar years, your miles in the first year should be reduced by half. By contrast, the new program gives a new longer validity of 36 months and an easier calculating method.
2.How can I get informed of the new miles validity rule?
You can refer to the updated Membership Guide, www.csair.com, Member Express or the CZ ICON magazine, etc. or, call the sales service hotline of CZ for detailed information.
3.How to calculate the miles validity?
The period of validity for mileages is 36 months as from the month of entry (excluding mileages with specially designated period of validity), mileages during the period of validity which are not redeemed will be cleared upon expiry.
Rules on the period of validity of China Southern Airlines SkyPearl mileages were upgraded in Jul 2015 as follows:

1. For members with gold and silver cards, unused mileages as for their gold and silver card membership will be automatically extended in full amounts for 12 months upon expiry, the extended mileages will be further extended automatically upon expiry if not used and the members are still with gold card or silver card membership. Therefore, during the gold and silver card membership period of members with gold and silver cards, the mileages will never be overdue; however, if they degraded from gold card or silver card members into base card members, policies for the period of validity for base cards will be followed.

2. A base card member may register to participate in the “China Southern Airlines SkyPearl Mileage Extension Program” before the expiry of his or her mileages, and after the registration, he or she may pay 20% of his or her mileages in exchange of the period of validity for another 12 months (namely, the 80% will be extended by 12 months), while mileages already extended cannot be further extended. If you fail to register to participate in the “China Southern Airlines SkyPearl Mileage Extension Program” before the expiry, all unused mileages will be cleared upon expiry.
