China Southern Aircraft Fleet Pushes Past 800 Mark- China Southern Airlines Australia

China Southern Airlines, the largest airline in the People’s Republic of China is pleased to announce that its fleet now numbers more than 800 aircraft.

Ranked 3rd globally by fleet size, China Southern Airlines is the first airline in the world to simultaneously operate both the Airbus A380 superjumbo as well as the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

China Southern’s fleet of aircraft pushed past the 100 aircraft mark in Year 1998 and reached 200 and then 300 subsequently in Years 2003 and 2007.

During Year 2010, the number of aircraft in the China Southern livery exceeded 400 and increased by another 100 three short years later.

The airline’s fleet number continued to steadily grow - reaching 600 in Year 2014 and 700 in Year 2016.  

In addition to its rapidly growing fleet size, the aircraft models purchased by China Southern Airlines have also gone through constant updates. China Southern received its first Airbus A380 superjumbo and Boeing 787 Dreamliner passenger aircraft, respectively, in Years 2011 and 2013.

During Year 2014, China Southern introduced the ultra-modern Boeing 777-300ER, which has been placed into operation on the airline’s Guangzhou-New York direct service, the longest non-stop route in China’s civil aviation history.

China Southern current fleet includes the Airbus A380, A330 and A320 as well as the Boeing 787, 777, 737 passenger aircraft.

More than 2,000 China Southern Airlines daily flights reach 224 destinations in more than 40 countries and regions around the world as the airline’s fleet size, number of flights and destinations continue to rapidly expand.
