Notice- China Southern Airlines Australia

China Southern Airlines has decided not to renew the membership agreement with SkyTeam Alliance from 1 January 2019. China Southern and SkyTeam are continuing to work closely together throughout 2019 to ensure a seamless transition for all our customers and partners. Related matters are notified as follows:

1.With China Southern's exit from SkyTeam, the benefits of its non-member customers will not be affected.

2.During the transition period of 2019, members of China Southern’s Sky Pearl Club will still enjoy the benefits of mileage accrual, retro-crediting and redemption.

Mileage Accrual and Retro-crediting

With travel dates on and before 31 December 2019, members of China Southern’s Sky Pearl Club will still be able to earn miles on SkyTeam's 19 member airlines and retro credit their miles within 6 months after the travel.

With travel dates on and before 31 December 2019, Frequent Flyer Program members of SkyTeam’s 19 member airlines will also be able to earn and retro credit miles on China Southern flights.

Miles Redemption

Members of China Southern’s Sky Pearl Club will be able to redeem their miles for flights operated by the 19 SkyTeam member airlines until 31 December 2019, and Frequent Flyer Program of the 19 SkyTeam member airlines can redeem their miles for flights operated by China Southern until the same date. All travel must be completed no later than 31 December 2020.

3.During the transition period of 2019, with travel dates before 31 December 2019, Elite Members of China Southern’s Sky Pearl Club and First/Business Class customers who fly with SkyTeam’s 19 member airlines will still be able to enjoy SkyPriority, Lounge Access, Elite Recognition and Elite Benefits.

Likewise, First/Business Class and Elite Plus SkyTeam customers flying with China Southern will also be able to enjoy SkyPriority, Lounge Access, Elite Recognition and Elite Benefits until the same date.

Starting from 1 January 2020, China Southern will continue to maintain friendly relations with SkyTeam member airlines and actively explore extensive cooperation with non-SkyTeam member airlines to further enhance customer benefits. China Southern will update related information in a timely manner.
