Baggage Delay/Damage

一、Baggage carriage

Passengers must check in their baggage with their air-tickets on departure day at the spot designated by the carrier within a certain period. Passengers are not allowed to carry the items prohibited by CSN in checked baggage, and the weight and size of their baggage shall not exceed the standards of CSN, but for those exceeding the standards of CSN, passengers should get CSN’s approval before check-in. Checked baggage must be locked or bundled up. Before checking in, passengers shall remove the old baggage tags and labels and ensure their baggage is well packed and can withstand certain pressure; packs above two cannot be bundled into one; nothing else can be attached or inserted to the checked baggage; plastic bags, bamboo baskets, string bags and straw ropes cannot be the wrapper of checked baggage; Passengers’ names, detailed addresses and phone numbers should be written on the baggage. Passengers should cooperate with airport security department in security check. CSN will attach tags to every checked baggage, and will hand over the recognition tags to passengers.

二、Baggage Delivery

(一)Domestic flights

1、Passengers should collect their baggage with their recognition tags at the airport upon arrival.

2、If a passenger fails to collect his or her baggage immediately, CSN will impose a storage charge from the next day of arrival. For the perishable items in the baggage, CSN reserves the right to get rid of them 24 hours after arrival.

3、CSN delivers the baggage on the basis of recognition tags and shall not be responsible for false claim and the losses or charges it incurs.

4、If passengers do not submit a written objection when collecting their baggage, then the baggage are deemed as being delivered in compliance with the carriage agreement.

5、If the baggage hasn’t been collected 90 days after the next day of baggage arrival, CSN has the right to dispose the baggage according to the rules for undelivered baggage.

(二)International flights

1、Passengers should collect their baggage with the recognition tag at the place or stopovers specified in their air tickets and baggage checks.

2、If a passenger fails to collect his or her baggage immediately, CSN will impose a storage charge from the next day of arrival. For the perishable items in the baggage, CSN reserves the right to get rid of them 24 hours after arrival.

3、If passengers do not submit a written objection when collecting their baggage, then the baggage are deemed as being delivered successfully and the preliminary evidence for its compliance with transport documents.

4、If the baggage hasn’t been collected 90 days after the next day of baggage arrival, CSN has the right to dispose the baggage according to the rules for undelivered baggage.

三、Baggage claim

(一)Domestic flights

1、If passengers’ checked baggage are damaged partly or totally, or lost, the compensation amount per kg shall not exceed 100 yuan. If passengers’ baggage is worth less than 100 yuan per kg, then the passengers shall be compensated according to its actual value.

2、If passenger’s baggage is damaged, CSN will compensate for its lost value or bear the repair expenses. If a passenger’s baggage case is damaged, the compensation amount should be less than 100 yuan per kg of its actual weight.

3、If a passenger has declared the value for the lost baggage already, CSN should compensate according to its declared value. If the declared value is higher than its actual value, CSN should compensate for its actual value.

4、CSN shall not take the responsibility for damages to passengers or their baggage caused by the items inside their baggage. If one passenger’s items inside the baggage cause damages to other passengers or their baggage, or CSN property, this passenger should compensate for all the losses of CSN and all the expenses paid by CSN.

5、If one passenger’s items that are prohibited from carrying inside checked baggage are lost or damaged, CSN only compensate under the rules for normal checked baggage.

(二)International flights

According to the Montreal Protocol, destroyed, lost, damaged or delayed baggage in international flights, the compensation limit for each passenger shall be 1131 Special Drawing Rights.
