1.How to obtain my reservation information for the self-service check-in?

You can obtain your reservation information via the following three means: 1) Put your ID card on the scanning area; 2) enter your E-ticket No., ID card No. or Sky Pearl Member No. on the touch screen; and 3) scan the QR code. 

2.What is online check-in?

On-line check-in is one of the most efficient way of checking in.

For a domestic departure passenger who has no luggage to check, he/she can get the boarding pass printed out at Online Check-in and go through the security check directly, which can save time for him/her.

An international departure passenger who has obtained the printed boarding voucher at the Online Check-in can get the boarding pass at the check-in counter with the voucher 60 minutes prior to departure (excluding passengers departing from Hong Kong). 


3.Which kind of passengers can check in online?

Adult passengers who have bought confirmed flight E-tickets (except for those who need special services or verification of other boarding certificates). Online check in is available for the flights originating from some domestic cities, Guangzhou and flights originating from some international cities (excluding some connecting flights, flights from Macao, flights from Guangzhou to Vancouver, Los Angeles or Auckland). 

4.Which kind of ticket is suitable for online check-in?

It must be valid adult E-ticket (except for passengers who need special services or verification of other boarding certificates); while the traditional paper ticket is not accepted for online check-in. 

5.Which language does China Southern Airlines offer for online check-in?
Chinese and English.
6.Which flight segments can I check in online?
Please inquire here.
7.Can I check in online with ticket bought from agent or intermediary?

You can check in online with all E-tickets despite of the way of purchase. 

8.Can I check in online with connecting flight?

Due to the factors of the continuous flights, connecting time etc., some connecting flights do not support online check-in. 

9.Can my seat be reserved for a longer time if I have checked in online?

Sorry, you must arrive at the boarding gate 15 minutes before departure; otherwise, you will be deemed having waived your seat and your ticket will be dealt with as voluntary change or refund. 

10.How to check in online on China Southern Airlines website?

Visit the home page of China Southern Airlines - www.csair.com, and then click "Online check-in" under the menu of "Online Service" to enter the login page of online check-in system. You can choose channels at your own will. 

11.Can I check in online individually if I am in a group?
Yes.
12.Can I check in online for round-trip ticket?

Yes, you can check in online for the round-trip tickets in accordance with the online check-in requirements. 

13.Are there specific safety requirements or standards for passengers to check in online?

The passengers checked in online or at the counter need to accept the same security inspections and get through with security staff's seal on boarding pass without specific safety requirements or standards. 

14.What should I know during online check-in?

You must have the valid adult E-ticket and provide the same identity information with that for booking. Passengers with paper tickets cannot check in online. 

15.Why can't I check in on the website or through SMS?

The possible reasons for failure to check in online:

1. Adult passengers need special service or extra proof,

2. Online check-in at the departure city is not available yet;

3. Infants or children passengers are under the age of 12

4. Passengers take the fights or E-tickets not from CSAir,

5. It is not the time of check-in yet;

6. Change of airplane types intermits the check-in;

7. Network-related or any other reason. 

For above reasons, you can go to the airport counter to check in or wait for a moment. 


16.Can group passengers check in online?
Yes.
17.Why can’t I see the interactive seat forms when checking in online?

Please check your network connection or speed at first, or upgrade your browser. 

18.Is there any time restriction on online check-in?

Online check-in will start from 14:00 on the day before departure to one hour before the departure (some cities can start earlier). Be sure to check in during this period if you need to check in online. 

19.Can I select a seat via online check-in?

Yes, after successful log-in and by “Select your seat”, you can select the unblocked or vacant seat as per the dynamic icons.  

20.Is there any requirement for printing paper of boarding pass of online check-in?

You only need to use A4 paper to print the boarding pass.

21.Does it matter that if some part of the boarding pass is not correctly printed or cannot be printed?

It matters. You must print the boarding pass on one paper for the convenience of boarding. If your boarding pass is incorrectly printed or lost partially, we suggest that you readjust your printer and print the boarding pass on one paper. 

22.Why can’t I change the seat?

It may be caused by the unstable system or network problem. We suggest you try again at another time or go to the airport to change the seat. 

23.Can I check in online if I do not have a printer and cannot print the boarding pass?

Yes, you can receive the boarding pass at the airport counter or duty counter at the airport with valid certificate. 

24.What should I do if I have lost my boarding pass after online check-in?

You can receive the boarding pass at the airport counter or duty counter at the airport with valid certificate. 

25.Can I check in online if I have checked baggage?

Yes, you can check in online. However, you need to check in luggage at the airport counter before departure.

If you still have to check in luggage after online check-in, please arrive at the airport earlier to ensure enough time for check-in. For deadline of airport counter, please consult the local airport. 

Standard of carry-on luggage: each passenger can bring one piece of hand luggage (two pieces of hand luggage for each passenger of first class) not exceeding 20×40×55 cm in size and 5 kg in weight. 


26.Why does the boarding gate displayed on the boarding pass is “Undistributed”?

It is because that the online check-in is usually earlier than the boarding gate distributed. Please pay attention to the display screens or consult the staff at the airport. 

27.Can I check in online if my flight is mixed of domestic and international flights?
Sorry, you cannot.
28.Can I check in online with a child accompanied?

Children cannot check in online. Only the passenger with valid adult E-ticket can check in online. We suggest you check in at the airport counter together with your child. 

29.When should I arrive at the airport after successful online check-in with printed boarding pass?

You must be boarded 15 minutes before departure, so you need to reserve sufficient time for luggage check-in and security check to avoid missing the flight. 

30.Can I upgrade my cabin when checking in online?

Sorry, it is not supportive online. If you need to upgrade, you can contact with the sales office or the departure airport. 

31.Can I check in online with codeshare flight?

Online check-in is not yet available for CSAir’s codeshare flights initiated with 5 and 7. 

32.Can I check in online for my companion?

Yes. 

33.Why can’t I find the menu of online check-in?

The menu of online check-in is under the option of “Online Service” on the official website (http://www.csair.com). If you are our member, you should log in first. 

34.Why can’t I inquire my record after log in the member’s area?

If you are a member of CSAir and have completed valid booking, you could log in the website and inquire related information. The possible reasons for failure to inquire: you have not complete valid booking; your network is in poor condition with serious delay and incomplete information display; and our server is busy. You may change the network environment or computer; our you may try again later. 

35.Why can’t I check in online after 14:00 one the day before departure day?

Possible reasons:

1. Online check-in at the departure city is not available yet;

2. Change of airplane types intermits the check-in;

3. Network-related or any other reason,

For above reasons, you can go to the airport counter to check in or wait for a moment. 


36.Why can’t I log in?

Please check if the network link is normal. If so, please verify the log-in information. Sometimes the system maintenance may lead to the temporary failure to log in. Please retry it later or go to the airport counter to check in. 

37.Why can’t I inquire my record while I have reserved a seat and want to check in online?

You need to log in with your member ID used for flight booking to inquire reservation information. Sometimes, you should also check your network status. 

38.Why am I asked to provide the flight information?

We need to inquire your ticket reservation with the provided information. 

39.How can I cancel my check-in?

It is the same as check-in, you can log in the online check-in page and choose the flight checked, and then cancel the check-in. 

40.Can I check in again with the same flight after cancellation of online check-in?

Yes. 

41.Why can’t I cancel the online check-in?

If you cancel the check-in within one hour before departure or have checked in your luggage, you can't cancel the online check-in. If you need to cancel it, please go to the airport and contact with service staff. 

42.How can I change my reservation after cancellation of check-in?

You can contact with your travel agent, ticket agent or any of the ticket offices, or call the service hotline: 4006695539 (Mainland); +86-20-22395539 (International) (7×24 hours), or call the sales service hotline: 95539 (Mainland); +86-20-86682000 (International). 

43.Does the cancellation of check-in mean that I have cancelled the ticket reservation?

No. The cancellation of online check-in only means the waiver of former seat you have chosen but does not mean you have cancelled the ticket reservation.  

44.How should I receive my boarding pass after online check-in?

Domestic departure passengers can print boarding passes after online check-in;

An international departure passenger who has obtained the printed boarding voucher at the Online Check-in can get the boarding pass at the check-in counter with the voucher 60 minutes prior to departure (excluding passengers departing from Hong Kong). 


45.Is "Online Check-in" service suitable for all the flights of China Southern Airlines?

Only some cities are available for online check-in service.  Please make inquiry on our website. 

46.Why can’t I find the flight I want to check in online?

Probably because your flight does not support online check-in service at the moment. Please go to the airport counter for check-in. 

47.Can I check in online for infant?

Probably because your flight does not support online check-in service at the moment. Please go to the airport counter for check-in. 

48.Can I cancel the reserved ticket after finishing “Online Check-in”?

Please cancel the check-in before the reserved ticket. 

49.What information is included in the printed boarding pass after online check-in?

The information includes: your name, flight, member card number, certificate number, seat, flight number, flight date etc. 

50.Why is my seat selected online is inconsistent with that printed on the boarding pass?

It is probably caused by the failure of online check-in or mergence, cancellation or aircraft change of your flight. 

51.How should I set my printer to print my boarding pass?

For the convenience of printing boarding pass, the resolution of your printer, including laser printer, should be above 300dpi. If you are not sure about your printer set, we suggest that you refer to the printer instruction. You’d better print it in black and white with A4 paper in advanced mode. 

52.What should I do if the printed boarding pass is incomplete?

You can readjust your printer and reprint the boarding pass. Or you can go to the airport counter to reprint the boarding pass. 

53.What equipment do I need for printing boarding pass?

Computer with necessary software like PDF reader;

Computer with linked network;

Printer with 300dpi resolution or above;

A4 or standard-sized paper;

Browser with the function of pop-up window.
