[Introduction]

Imam Khomeini International Airport (IATA Code: IKA) is located in Ahmadabad, 30 km south of Tehram – the capital city of Islamic Republic of Iran. It was named after Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ruhollah Mousavi Khomeini (Honorary Title: Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini), the deceased leader of Iran. It was built up and put into use in 2004 and then started to replace the Mehrabad International Airport located in the west suburb of Tehram, becoming the busiest airport in Iran.
