Introduction

Classified 4E, Wuhan Tianhe International Airport is a regular international airport filed by ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) and the air transportation hub of Middle China. At present, China has determined preliminarily to build the air cargo center, the postal center, the express center and the second largest plane maintenance base of Middle and Southern China in Tianhe International Airport. A good development opportunity, the special regional advantages and the sound airport functions will bring the airport into a distribution center for passengers and cargos by air.


Domestic inbound and outbound passenger flow

1.Ordinary domestic outbound passengers for short-haul flights

Arrive at Terminal 3 (T3) → Lobby, L4 → Check-in zones (E, F, J, K) for passenger and baggage check-in → security inspection of passengers and carry-on luggage at security inspection zone A (or B) → Waiting lounges in East Concourse and West Concourse, L2 → Check boarding pass at boarding gate → Passenger boarding bridge.

2.Ordinary domestic outbound passengers for long-haul flights

Arrive at Terminal 3 (T3) → Lobby, L4 → Check-in zones (E, F, J, K) for passenger and baggage check-in → security inspection of passengers and carry-on luggage at security checkpoint A → Waiting lounge in West Concourse, L2 → Escalator to waiting lounge for long-haul flights, L1 → Check boarding pass at boarding gate → Shuttle bus → Stairs to board plane.

3.Ordinary domestic inbound passengers for short-haul flights

Passenger bridge to enter Terminal 3 (T3) → Go through waiting lounge (L2) to enter domestic baggage hall (passengers pick up baggage) → Lobby, L2 → L2 walkway to Ground Transport Center (GTC) or down one more level to Transport Interchange → Leave airport.

4.Ordinary domestic inbound passengers for long-haul flights

Stairs to leave plane → Shuttle bus → Arrive at domestic long haul entrance, L1 → Escalator (or elevator) to L2 → Enter domestic baggage hall (passengers pick up baggage) → Lobby, L2 → L2 walkway to Ground Transport Center (GTC) or down one more level to Transport Interchange → Leave airport.


International inbound and outbound passenger flow

1.Ordinary international outbound passengers for short-haul flights

Arrive at Terminal 3 (T3) → Lobby, L4 → Customs declaration for check-in baggage (at beginning of zone G) → Zones (G, H) for passenger and baggage check-in → Inspection and quarantine → Customs → Immigration/Passport Control → Security inspection of passengers and carry-on luggage at security checkpoint → Waiting lounge, L4 → Check boarding pass and passport at boarding gate → Passenger boarding bridge.

2.Ordinary international outbound passengers for long-haul flights

Arrive at Terminal 3 (T3) → Lobby, L4 → Customs declaration for check-in baggage (at beginning of zone G) → Zones (G, H) for passenger and baggage check-in → Inspection and quarantine → Customs → Immigration/Passport Control → Security inspection of passengers and carry-on luggage at security checkpoint → Turn right at waiting lounge (L4) and walk for about 90m → Escalator (or elevator) down one level to waiting lounge for international long-haul flights → Check boarding pass and passport at boarding gate → Shuttle bus → Stairs to board plane.

3.Ordinary international inbound passengers for short-haul flights

Cross passenger bridge to leave plane and enter Terminal 3 (T3), L3 → Escalator (or elevator) to L2 → Airport visa office to apply for visa (if required) → Inspection and quarantine → Immigration/Passport Control → Baggage hall to collect baggage → Customs → Animal and plant inspection → L2 walkway to Ground Transport Center (GTC) or down one more level to Transport Interchange → Go out Terminal 3 and leave airport.

4.Ordinary international inbound passengers for long-haul flights

Take stairs to leave plane → Shuttle bus → Arrive at international long-haul entrance, L1 → Escalator (or elevator) to L3 → Walk for about 120m → Escalator (elevator) to Joint Inspection Area → Airport visa office to apply for visa (if required), L2 → Inspection and quarantine → Immigration/Passport Control → Baggage hall to collect baggage → Customs → Animal and plant inspection → L2 walkway to Ground Transport Center (GTC) or down one more level to Transport Interchange → Go out Terminal 3 and leave airport.


Transiting passenger flow

1.Domestic-domestic transit for ordinary passengers

No Checked-in Baggage: Cross the bridge or take the shuttle bus to Terminal 3 → Walk to transit service counters in waiting lounge (West Transit Service Counter, East Transit Service Counter) for transit check-in, L2 → Waiting lounge corresponding to boarding gate → Check boarding pass at boarding gate → Passenger boarding bridge for short-hauls; shuttle bus and stairs to board plane for long-hauls.

Checked-in Baggage: Cross the bridge or take the shuttle bus to Terminal 3 → Walk to baggage hall (L2) to collect checked-in baggage → Transit service counter in baggage hall to check in baggage → Security inspection of passengers and carry-on luggage at transit lounge → Waiting lounge corresponding to boarding gate → Check boarding pass at boarding gate → Bridge to board plane for short-hauls; shuttle bus and stairs to board plane for long-hauls.

2.Domestic-international transit for ordinary passengers

Once you enter the airport, use the following routes for passenger drop-off and parking:

Those coming from Wuhan City can use Airport Boulevard to connect to the elevated road to Departures at T3 to drop-off the passengers, or take Airport Boulevard and drive through the road at L1 of T3 to enter the basement parking lot to park the car, and then use the lift to get to departures at L4.

Intercity Railway

To Airport

1.From Hankou station in the direction of Xiaogan East Station, stop at Tianhe Airport.

2.Intercity Railway to Tianhe Airport Station ➸ Exit Intercity Railway through gate A/B ➸ Transport Center, corridors 1, 2, and 3, L2 ➸ Terminal 3 (T3), gates 6, 7, and 8, L2 ➸ T3 Departure Hall, L4 (about 10 minutes for the whole journey).

From Airport

Exit from gates 6, 7, and 8 on L2 of T3 ➸ Transport Center, corridors 1, 2, and 3, L2 ➸ Take the escalator, elevator or walk down the stairs to B1 of transport center ➸ Enter the Intercity Railway station through A/B gate ➸ Take the escalator or walk down the stairs to B2 of transport center to take the bus (6 minutes for the whole journey, including clearing the security checkpoint).

Metro

To Airport

Line 2 to Tianhe Airport Station ➔ Exit B ➔ Transport Center, corridors 1, 2, 3, L2 ➔ T3 Gate 6, 7, and 8, L2 ➔ T3 Departure Hall, L4 (about 10 minutes for the whole journey).

2.Direct bus from city to airport terminals

Currently, there are more than 10 inter-city buses to Wuhan Tianhe Airport, including Xiangyang, Suizhou, Ezhou, Guangshui, Jingmen, Xiantao, Yingshan, Huangzhou, Yingcheng, Macheng, Hongan and Tianmen. From Airport

1.From airport to city (Airport Express)

Passengers can purchase the bus tickets from Gate 7 (L2) or Gate 12 (L1) in Terminal 3 (T3) (within the building), or use the WeChat Official Account, "A Airport Express", network platform to buy the ticket. Wait in line at the Airport Express boarding point at gates 11-13, L1, T3.

Currently, there are 6 lines from the airport to the city, including to Wuchang Fujiapo, Wuchang Hongji Passenger Terminal,Airport Road, Hankou Railway Station, Wuhan Railway Station, and Xinrong Station. (The operating hours should be based on information published by the bus stations.)

2.Direct bus from city to airport terminals

(1)You can buy tickets from the same places where tickets for Airport Express are sold.

(2)Currently, there are direct buses from the city to airport terminals, including Xiangyang, Suizhou, Ezhou, Guangshui, Jingmen, Xiantao, Yingshan, Huangzhou, Yingcheng, Macheng, Hongan, Tianmen, and Huangshi.

In Wuhan Tianhe Airport, the time taken to complete all check-in procedures for domestic departures is about 40 minutes prior to departure. For international flights, and flights to Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the time taken to complete all check-in procedures is about 1 hour prior to departure for most flights. Passengers are encouraged to reserve sufficient time to complete the check-in processes so as not to miss your flight.


China Southern Airlines Counters

The corresponding logos of the airlines are displayed outside the terminals. You can enter Terminal 3 (T3) from the corresponding entrance. You can see the signs for China Southern Airlines at the T3-03 location.

China Southern Airlines check-in area is in zone J.

China Southern Airlines service counters are located at the very beginning of zone J. The counters provide services like ticket services, overweight baggage charges and VIP customer services.

J01 Check-in counters for China Southern Airlines pearl, gold and silver card-holders, VIP customers, business and first class passengers.

J01-J10 Check-in counter for domestic economy class passengers

China Southern Airlines international check-in area is in zone H.

After check-in, please head to zone B for security checks. There are 15 security checkpoints in zone B, of which lane 01 is for business and first class passengers. After the security checkpoint, there are two concourses. One concourse is shared by China Southern Airlines, of which five gates are allocated to China Southern Airlines for use. The 21 gates in the second concourse are all dedicated for use by China Southern Airlines. Follow the directional signs and you can find lounges V1 and V2 by China Southern Airlines for its premium customers, business and first class customers.
