China Southern Sky Pearl International VIP Lounge Put into Use
A New Chapter of High-End Services



After comprehensive upgrading, China Southern Sky Pearl International VIP Lounge was formally put into use on January 9, 2012. Located at No.1 East Corridor of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, the Lounge is a five-star high-end VIP lounge built by China Southern Airlines according to the Skytrax concept in terms of functional design, hardware facilities, software design, and personnel quality to meet international high-end passengers' needs. With a total area of about 1400 square meters and 206 seats, it is currently the largest and the most luxurious VIP lounge in China. The opening of China Southern Sky Pearl International VIP Lounge not only meets passengers' demands in the peak season, but also becomes a service highlight of China Southern Airlines during the Spring Festival travel rush.
The opening ceremony was attended by Edward Plaisted, President of Skytrax, Zhang Kejian, General Manager of Guangdong Airport Management Corporation, Ma Xinhang, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Co., Ltd., Tan Wangeng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of China Southern Airlines Holding Company, Zhang Zifang, Secretary of the Party Committee of China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd., and leaders from Guangzhou Municipal Entry-Exit Port Administration Office, Guangzhou Biayun International Airport frontier inspection station, the Customs, the Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and the Public Security Bureau.
The elegant and fashionable Lounge perfectly integrates the modern simple style and Chinese classic style, bringing high-end passengers comfortable and quiet private spaces. The Lounge has two floors, with partition management adopted for the first/business class passengers and the elite member passengers. It is available for first/business class passengers, VIP passengers, Sky Pearl gold/silver card holders, SkyTeam Elite Plus card holders, and VIPs of China Southern Airlines’ partners. The rest area special for China Southern Airlines first class and business class passengers offers individual services based on international standards to meet the diversified demands of passengers.
Dining Area for First/Business Class Passengers. Located on the first floor of the Lounge, the dining area can accommodate 40 people. It provides Chinese and western style hot foods, snacks, tea and drinks in the morning, noon and evening. There are two menus for hot foods, with each one for one week, mainly offering western style food, such as French scrambled eggs and shredded potato galette for breakfast, and pasta with mushroom cream sauce, teriyaki chicken, sweet and sour fish and other specialty dishes for lunch and supper. Meanwhile, the cook will provide foods produced at the spot throughout the day, including green vegetables, congee boiled alive, noodles, wonton, dumplings and other specialty foods of the Chinese flavors.
Children Activity Area. It’s on the first floor of the Lounge. There are various toys and recreation facilities, and children can enjoy themselves to the full.
Traditional Chinese Tea Art Display. It is located in the interlayer of the Lounge. The service staff will brew the tea at the spot from 10:00 to 11:00 and 15:00 to 16:00 every day, showing passengers the traditional Chinese tea art. There are four kinds of tea provided in this area: Tie Guanyin, Dragen Well tea, Bi Luo Chun tea and Pu-erh tea.
Audio-visual Area and Reading Area. Located on the first floor and in the interlayer of the Lounge. The video-audio area is installed with three sets of audio-visual equipment for passengers to watch films and listen to the music. The reading area offers 50 kinds of magazines of 9 series about entertainment, finance, women and children, six Chinese newspapers and two English newspapers.
Business Area. Located on the first floor and in the interlayer of the Lounge, the business area is equipped with computers and office multi-functional machine. In addition, the Lounge has full wireless network coverage, and passengers can get access to the Internet no matter where they sit.
Meeting Room and Small Private Rooms. Located on the first floor and in the interlayer of the Lounge, the meeting room and small private rooms are specially provided for VIP passengers and business passengers, enabling them to work in a trouble-free environment during the waiting period.
Massage Room and Sleeping Area. Located in the interlayer of the Lounge, the massage room is equipped with three massage chairs. Passengers who need high-quality or long-time sleeping can also have a rest in the three small sleeping rooms with better sound-proof effect to remove the fatigue of a long journey.
Shower Compartment. Located in the interlayer of the Lounge, the three shower compartments are spacious and elegant in design, providing a comfortable and pleasant environment, thus enabling passengers to enjoy superior-quality VIP services.
Maternal and Infant Area. The separate maternal and infant rooms are located in the interlayer of the Lounge, providing a private space for mothers to look after their baby and have breastfeeding.
There is a special rest area for member passengers located on the first floor of the Lounge. It’s exclusive for members of China Southern Sky Pearl Club and SkyTeam Elite Plus and can accommodate 73 people. There is a business center, surfing area, a shower compartment, VIP rooms, and a recreational area for movies and TV plays, newspapers and magazines. Beverages, snacks, hot foods and cold foods are also available for passengers to enjoy. To ensure the service quality, the staff of the Lounge work on three shifts, with each shift deployed with 14 service staff, 8 cleaners and 2 cooks for first/business class, thus enabling passengers to enjoy high-quality services at any time.
